Calculating Quantities And Classification Of Chemical...

Calculating Quantities and Classification of Chemical Reactions Lab Purpose: I. The objective of this laboratory experiment is to be able to identify and precisely classify each reaction as one of the five different types of chemical reactions by comparing the reactants from the product. II. The purpose of this laboratory experiment is to accurately calculate quantities of the products and the reactants, Aluminum and Copper (II) Chloride, in the chemical reaction to determine its percent yield. Data Tables: I. Limiting and Excess Reactant Answers on printed copy 2. Theoretical Yield -Using the given mass of the limiting reactant (Al), convert it to the mass of the product (Cu) -The mass used for the conversion is the limiting reactant is used NOT the excess reactant because once the limiting reactant runs out, the chemical reaction stops. -The product used for the conversion is Cu NOT AlCl3 because Cu is the solid product which was filtered from the filter
